Access to Secrets
For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. (1 Corinthians 14:2)
Do you remember watching old spy movies? Part of the story may have included a secret code used to communicate important information to their counterpart so the enemy couldn’t interpret it. Maybe you heard of the Navajo code talkers. During World War II, they spoke in a language that only other Navajo could understand.
In the same way, the Bible says we have access to secrets that God wants to give to us. The word mysteries in 1 Corinthians 14:2 is the Greek word mysterion and means hidden things, secret talks, secrets, and secret plans.
When God sends you to minister to someone, don’t just do so by praying in your understanding; you should also pray in the Holy Spirit. Paul told us in his epistles that he prayed more in the Holy Spirit than anyone else he knew. That must mean that he prayed more in tongues than he did in his natural language.
God knows secret, hidden things about what will bring deliverance to someone. The person who needs deliverance may not even know what his or her deep issues are, but the Holy Spirit knows! God not only knows how to bring relief for the momentary issue, but He will also handle the root and deep cause of this problem so the individual will experience lasting freedom.
You have access to the amazing insights of the Holy Ghost. As you go about your day or you are praying about how to minister to someone, make sure you dedicate time to praying in the Holy Spirit.
Practical Application – Spend extra time praying in tongues for people as well as for situations that you may not understand.
