For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:10)

Everyone has an opinion and in our world, and it has become increasingly more popular to live your life according to your personal opinions. But that’s not the Christian’s call. There is one opinion that should matter above all others for the believer—the opinion of God. It’s crucial that we align our thoughts and words with what He has spoken. Too often, we hold mixed beliefs that come partially from the world and partially from God's Word, resulting in very few miracles, signs, and wonders. If we mingle our opinions and words with doubt and unbelief, we will end up with confusion and weakness, not faith and power! When your heart is good ground, the seed of God's Word will germinate and grow. When you speak God's Word, the truth will activate in your life. We can’t be faithful in activating our faith without being people that confess the Word. When we do, we receive divine protection, healing, preservation, and wholeness.

Whether or not we feel well, we have the power to respond according to our faith. When asked about how we are, we have the choice to answer based on our feelings or to align our response with our faith. By consistently filling our hearts with the Word of God, our confession becomes an outpouring of faith, even in difficult circumstances.

Jesus taught that out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. In life-and-death situations, what truly lives within us becomes clear. Our words become a platform for the activity of either angels or demons. Because of this, it’s incredibly important to guard our hearts and ensure that they are filled with the truth of God's Word.

Our confession holds the power to rescue and bring safety into our lives. Instead of waiting for God to intervene from above or below, He has placed the power of salvation within our own mouths. By consistently declaring His promises, we align ourselves with His divine rescue and safety.

Practical Application

Be good ground; spend time in the Word sowing into your heart and then you'll be prepared for whatever comes against you.

Luke 8:15; Philippians 3:9
